| Weed & Pest Technician I |
Salary: $9.85/hour
Function:
Primary responsibilities will be for the Weed and Pest Program duties.
Requires ordinary tact and discretion in achieving desired results and
maintaining a positive working relationship with Recreation Staff and
the public.
Supervision: Responsible to the Weed and Pest Tech II and the Park Foreman or other designated individuals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Mosquito Program will consist of two areas of identification and control
- Larviciding - perform mosquito larval surveillance checks and control through the use of larvicides.
- Adulticiding - control adult mosquitoes utilizing truck mounted ultra-low volume sprayers and hand spraying equipment as needed.
- Weed Program will consist of identifying and controlling weeds within the city.
- Machinery Maintenance- clean and maintain all vehicles and equipment used in scope of duties.
- Assist
in data collection- compile and document mosquito data, environmental
conditions, and pesticide and herbicide usage information.
- Assist in building and park maintenance, perform maintenance and improvement tasks as needed
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Wyoming drivers license and be at least 17 years old.
- Be able to work a flexible shift which includes evenings and weekends.
- Good physical condition including the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate verbally with the public.
- Ability to operate a standard transmission.
Knowledge and Preferred Skills:
- Wyoming Pesticide Applicators License
- Experience in a Weed and Pest Program

| Recreation Specialist II |
Salary: $24,771.50 to start
Function: Under
supervision is responsible to implement, supervise and evaluate
assigned programs, activities, and personnel. Recruitment and training
of volunteers and paid staff is also a responsibility of this position.
Recreation
Specialist II - This person instructs or leads activities in outdoor
recreation, adaptive recreation, adult and senior fitness programs,
youth special events such as Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Events, Aquatic
Specialist, Youth Football Concession Manager, After School Program,
Youth Cheerleading, City-Wide Youth and Adult Tennis Coordinator, and
assists with District-Wide activities and programs.
* This
position will involve developmental and organizational work in the
above work areas. Though some part-time employees may be placed in
charge of certain aspects of these programs, it is expected that this
person shall serve as the actual on-site program leader/supervisor
representing the Recreation District, requiring substantial evening and
weekend work.
Supervision: Responsible to the Executive
Director, Business Manager, or other designated person. Will be
evaluated through observation, conferences, and written evaluations.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Organize activities, setting dates and arranging for facilities.
- Recruit and train personnel, including volunteers.
- Keep accurate attendance records for all activities.
- Complete program evaluations and evaluate subordinate staff.
- Verify all subordinate employee time-sheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Distribute district quality surveys to participants.
- Assign and maintain district equipment.
- Be responsible for preparation of advertising and media information.
- Investigate complaints and take appropriate action.
- Conduct radio programs to promote activities of the district.
- Coordinates all instruction.
- Reports to Director or Business Manager daily.
- Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the pool.
- Conduct monthly in-service training.
- Report and fill out all accident report sheets.
- Handle and discipline problems at the pool.
- Report to Director when pool has been visited by other agencies.
- Perform related tasks as required.
Qualifications:- Demonstrate strong organization skills.
- Some knowledge and/or experience in respective areas of responsibility.
- Be able to multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to obtain a Wyoming vehicle operators license.
- Be able to become certified pool operator, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT).
- Be able to obtain Red Cross Life-guarding, CPR, First Aid certificate.
- Graduate
from a four year college with emphasis in recreation, leisure services,
physical education, or a related area or equivalent experience.
- Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Youth Baseball Coaches needed |
THE
RECREATION DISTRICT NEEDS YOUTH BASEBALL COACHES. All our youth
programs require adults within the community to step forward and
volunteer a few hours of time to help make the program
successful. If you like kids, know baseball, can keep the sport
in proper perspective, and be fair to all kids in the program, we need
you to help out. If you are interested, please contact the
Sheridan Recreation District at 674-6421. This year we are
requiring all Coaches to sign off on a background check form.
The
Sheridan Recreation District requires all volunteer coaches to certify
with the NYSCA program. This program is designed to help coaches
understand the special needs of each child, teach fundamentals, plan
practices, and most importantly, how to be a positive role model for
the young athletic. Plan now to attend one of the clinics we
offer in the Spring. Please check the baseball Time Line for a date you can attend. |

| There
is no better way to stay involved in baseball then to become an
umpire. The Rec. District offers decent pay, and a benefit
package that includes a pop, popcorn, and getting to be on the field in
the thick of the action. Look at it this way, no matter what you

Slow Pitch Girls & Co-Ed League Coaches needed |
| Volunteer coaches
are needed for T-Ball (Ages 7-9), Colts (Ages 10-12), and Ponies (Ages
13-15) Please contact the Recreation District Office, 674-6421.
A mandatory coaches meeting will be held on Monday May 19, 5:30 p.m. at
the Sheridan Recreation District Office. Also a NYSCA clinic will be held
on May 5th and/or May 20th for first time coaches. |
| Softball
Umpires Needed & Umpires Field Clinic |
Are you a player, manager, or just have a desire
to get out and enjoy the outdoors, getting paid while watching other
people play? Why not become an umpire? Non-experienced and
experienced officials are encouraged to become involved. Field
clinics, rules clinics, and game situations are covered. Officials
pay range from $20.00 - $25.00 per game. Attend the Rules Clinic on
Wednesday April 30.
A field clinic is offered on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the Softball
Complex. The on-field clinic covers game situations and umpires in
attendance will receive a priority on game and tournament assignments for
the upcoming league. Contact the Sheridan Recreation District at

State Umpire School The
state umpire school will be held in late April. All umpires that
want to work at the state, regional, or national softball tournaments
must attend this clinic. For more information, contact The

Dog
Trainer Needed
The Sheridan Recreation District would
like to start a hunting dog clinic this fall, but we are in need of a dog
trainer. This clinic would be for hunters and their dog to learn
to work together on various skills need to hunt effectively. Anyone
