This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising a variety of recreation programs, activities and special events. The Sheridan Recreation District operates and facilities recreation programs and events, active parks, and an outdoor pool. Summer recreation programs include youth baseball and softball, adult softball, swim lessons, and youth outdoor education. Kendrick Pool located in Kendrick Park operates from the first part of June unit the end of August. The Recreation District operates and maintains the Sheridan Softball Complex, John Oatt's Baseball Fields, Dan Madia Fields, Thorne-Rider Park, and Centennial Park in Story, WY during the summer months.   The internship will take place in Sheridan, WY Start Date of Internship: 5/28/2018 End Date of Internship: 8/17/2018 Weekly Hours: 35-40 Hourly Wage: $11.15 What does the internship provide? This internship will provide a comprehensive look at the Parks and Recreation field. The intern will spend time working in all departments within the Sheridan Recreation District - recreation, aquatics, and parks. This experience will show the wide ranging impacts of Parks and Recreation. What are the characteristics of a qualified candidate? Candidates should enjoy working for their community. What skills are needed to do the internship?
