Facilities
Facility and Equipment Policy
The Sheridan Recreation District does have available the use of Thorne-Rider Park, Story Park, Kendrick Pool, Sheridan Softball Complex, Picnic Kits, and a popcorn popper for public use at reasonable rates.  See user agreement forms below for each item and for complete information.  The Sheridan Area Recreation District Board reserves the right to refuse these services to any person or group.
Thorne-Rider Park
The Sheridan Recreation District Office, Thorne-Rider Kiddy Park, BMX Bike Track, Tennis, Sand Volleyball, Basketball Courts, Redle Field, Trooper Stadium, Walking Path, X-Country Ski Trail, Sledding Hill, Sheridan Skate Board Park, West Thorne-Rider Ice Rink, and Dan Madia Field are all located in Throne-Rider Park.

From North Main Street, turn west on 11th Street, turn north on Spaulding Street, follow Spaulding Street 1 block into Thorne-Rider Park. Thorne-Rider Kiddy Park and picnic area are on the right and Redle Field is straight ahead as you enter the Park. Going around the corner, the BMX Bike Track in on the left with the Sheridan Recreation District Office on the right, the Walking Path is across the river from the office, located in the center of the park are the Tennis, Sand Volleyball, Basketball Courts, and playground and picnic area. Trooper Stadium Field is located on the northeast end of Thorne-Rider Park.

From North Main Street, turn west on 11th Street, cross the bridge, Dan Madia Field is on the right, continuing west on 11th Street, turn north on Dana Avenue, the Sheridan Skate Board Park, a playground and picnic area and the Sledding Hill are located on the East side of Dana Avenue.

THORNE-RIDER PARK RESERVATIONS
Persons having class reunions, family reunions, and company picnics can reserve Thorne-Rider Park picnic facilities.  This is done on a first come, first served basis and grants you and your group use of the area reserved.  Requests for malt beverage permits for City Parks are issued at the discretion of the City of Sheridan and are to be requested at City Hall.  Thorne-Rider & Dan Madia Parks Use Agreement  ($50.00 deposit, $10.00 reservation fee - non-refundable)

Kendrick Park Pool, Tennis Courts, and Ice Cream Stand
From South Main Street, turn west on Loucks Street, cross the bridge over Big Goose Creek, turn north on Badger Street, go one block, turn west on Beaver Street.  The pool is on the right and the tennis courts on the left.

KENDRICK POOL POLICY FOR POOL RENTAL
The Kendrick Pool is available for rental on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the cost of $100.00.  A maximum of 75 people can be invited.  An additional rate of $1.00 per person will be charged for more than 75 people.  Two week advance notice is required for reservations and cancellations to receive full refund.  Don't delay, call today to reserve Kendrick Pool.  Please call the Kendrick Park Pool at 674-9436 for more information.  Download the pool rental form.

The Ice Cream Stand is in the center of Kendrick Park, at the intersection of Beaver and Badger Streets veer right and follow the road down into the park.  The ice cream stand opened on Saturday, May 12 . That's right, all those delicious flavors of ice cream -- along with the italian sodas, hot dogs, polish dogs, and other tasty treats -- will be available for your delight beginning in May.  Make plans to visit Kendrick Park and enjoy some flavorful ice cream. Truly , one of life's simple pleasures.

Oatts 6th Street Field
From North Main Street turn east on 5th Street and north on Saberton Avenue. Oatts 6th Street Field is on the west side of Saberton Avenue, between 6th and 7th Streets.

Sheridan College Softball Complex
This facility includes (3) lighted softball fields, concessions and restroom facilities, playground area, (2) slow-pitch batting machine/cages.  Formal reservations are taken at the Recreation Office in Thorne-Rider Park by the Adult Sports Specialist on a first come, first serve basis and are scheduled at the first softball organizational meeting of the season.  Sheridan Softball Complex Use Agreement  ($150.00 deposit fee)

Highland Park SRD Facility
The Sheridan Recreation District manages the former Highland Park School facility which is located at Highland Avenue and Avon Street.  Visit Highland Park SRD Facility for more information.

Story “Centennial Park”
RESERVATIONS
Persons having class reunions, family reunions, and company picnics can reserve Story "Centennial Park" picnic facilities.  This is done on a first come, first served basis and grants you and your group use of the area reserved.    Story "Centennial Park" Use Agreement  ($50.00 deposit, $10.00 reservation fee - non-refundable)

X-Country Ski Trails
Sledding Hill
The Recreation District has a sledding hill for kids in Thorne-Rider Park.  It is located across Goose Creek pedestrian bridge below Madia Field.  Parking is available by the Tennis Courts and also in the Dan Madia Field Parking area.  Try out your new snowboards, skis and sleds before you head up the mountain.

Rent a Sound System / Dee Jay
The Sheridan Recreation District has a Disc Jockey and Peavey Sound System available for Parties, Dances, Wedding Receptions or any event that needs music.  David Harding Dee Jay, can supply your event with any kind of music you and your group wish to listen to.  You can also supply your own music if you wish to listen to some of your special favorite selections.  For a minimum (2) two hours of music there is a charge of $100. Each additional hour is $50.  To reserve your event date early please contact Richard Wright at the Recreation District office at 674-6421, or stop by the Recreation Office in Thorne-Rider Park and fill out an Audio Equipment Rental Agreement form.  Make your reservation early!!!

Picnic Kit / Popcorn Popper
The picnic kits and Popcorn Popper are available for public use on a first come, first served basis.  Picnic Kits include (1) Volleyball, (1) Volleyball Net and Poles, (1) Softball Bat, (1) Softball, (4) Horseshoes and (2) Horseshoe stakes. You must check out the whole kit or nothing at all in order to keep the kits organized.  The Popcorn Popper is a large commercial size popper that is used in concession operations.  Picnic Kit / Popcorn User Agreement  ($50.00 deposit, $10.00 reservation fee - non-refundable)
