All kindergarten and first grade boys and girls are encouraged to sign up for Little Sluggers Baseball! This program introduces the fundamentals of the sport and prepares players to move on to baseball or softball programs. As an instructional league with a goal to prepare players for future competitive games, this league will have one “game” on the last day. Who: Kindergarten and first grade girls and boys (ages 4-6) Fee: $30 (includes t-shirt) Registration: Sign up online or in person at 1579 Thorne-Rider Park between April 13 - May 22 o Session 1: Saturdays: June 6, 13, 20, 27; July 11, 18 o Session 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays: July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 Time: 9:00 - 10:00 am Equipment: Each player should have a glove, weather appropriate clothes, and a water bottle.

Practice starts June 17, games begin July 1. Register early as we have a maximum limit of 13 players per team! Minis (Current 1st - 3rd Graders) This fun youth league continues to grow as girls learn skills, gain experience, understand competition, and participate in team play. FUN-damentals are heavily stressed with this entry level program and girls will learn the basics of softball. Coaches pitch to the girls and everyone gets plenty of opportunities to hit the ball and run the bases. Teams are formed based on the schools the girls attend. In an effort to keep team numbers low and individual playing time maximized the program director, Zach Stewart, can modify teams at his discretion. Jerseys and visors will be provided. Registration: Sign up online or in person at 1579 Thorne-Rider Park between March 11 - June 12, 2019 Fee: $40 Practice Starts: June 17 Games Start: July 1 Intermediate (Current 4th & 5th Graders) This is the first year of transitioning to Fast Pitch Softball for the Intermediate League. For this league we focus on teaching the girls new FUN-damentals but will still focus on learning the skills, gaining experience, understanding the game, and creating a fun and competitive environment. Again, this is an entry level Fast Pitch league and players will begin to learn how to pitch with the help of their coaches. All Intermediate players will play on a team of the school they are currently attending. This is a camp set up for youth softball players up to age 18 to learn new skills and sharpen their fundamentals. Campers will work with SRD staff with the help of MSUB coaches, Lisa McKinney and Taylor Olsen. There will be two sessions: Session One Beginners, 4:00 – 6:00 pm: This session will be set up to help beginners become more confident with their softball abilities while teaching new skills in fielding, hitting, and the basics of fastpitch. Session Two Advanced, 6:30 – 8:30 pm: This session will be set up for more experienced players to refine and expand on their current skills in hitting, fielding, and pitching. Date: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 Registration: Sign up online or in person at 1579 Thorne-Rider Park Fee: $30 per session Equipment: All players will need to bring a glove, water bottle, athletic clothes, and tennis shoes.
