Thorne-Rider Park Pathways
The Pathway is maintained throughout the year from 8th Street to North Park. You can still get out and take advantage of the pathways through the winter months. Get out and exercise yourself or take your dog for a walk through beautiful Thorne-Rider Park.
Sheridan Community Skate Park
The Sheridan Recreation District, the City of Sherdan, and generous community sponsors are proud to offer the Sheridan Community Skate Park, Located in West Thorne-Rider Park near nana avenue and West 12th Street. A new grinding rail was added, providing an exiting feature for boarders and skaters alike.
The Facility is equipped with lighting for evening use. However, we ask all users to respect local laws and curfews. For safety, helmets and pads are required at all times. Please treat the skate Park with care and respect, it was built for the youth of Sheridan County and maintained for everyones enjoyment.
Reserving Thorne-Rider Park
Planning a family reunion, class gathering, or special event? Thorne-Rider Park is available for reservations!
- $15 fee for reservations lasting less than 2 hours
- $25 fee for reservations lasting 2 hours or more
- Reservations are first come, first served and include access to the picnic areas.
Shelters available for reservations include:
- 2 picnic shelters at Bondi Park near Dan Madia Field
- 1 picnic shelter at Spider Web Park, located behind the indoor tennis courts
- 4 picnic shelters at Barney Park, on the south end of Thorne-Rider park near Redle Field
Alcohol Permits
If your event requires a malt beverage permit, please note these are issued at the discretion of the City of Sheridan. Contact City Hall at 307-674-6483 or visit in person on Grinnell Street to submit your request.
