Outdoor Adventure Camps 2025
This collaborative camp between the Sheridan Recreation District, Bighorn Mountain Guides, and Antelope Butte is sure to provide your child with three days of outdoor adventure fun! Each day will start with four hours of rock climbing, followed by outdoor adventure activities and skill building, such as backcountry navigation, water purification, fire building, and others.
Ages: 8-10 and 11-14 (10 participants per session)
- Session Dates
- Session 1: July 14th - 16th (ages 8-10)
- Session 2: July 21st - 23rd (ages 11-14)
Fee: $260
Time: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
- 7:30 am: Drop off at Sheridan Recreation District Office
- 7:40 am: Drive to the climbing area for the day, meet Bighorn Mountain Guides
- 9:00 am - Noon: Rock climb with Bighorn Mountains guides
- 12:15 - 1:15 pm: Lunch
- 1:15 - 3:00 pm: Outdoor Adventure – each day will have a new and unique focus. Participants will learn about Leave No Trace, and other practical or scientific activities such as how to portage across a body of water, water purification, basic first aid, basic use of a compass. Participants will apply their new strategies by participating in a treasure hunt, finding themselves on a map, building a fire for S’mores and “wilderness hot chocolate” and more!
- 4:00 pm: Arrive at Sheridan Recreation District office
